About the Tashi Thek-Chok Ling Buddhist Center
The primary objective of Tashi Thek Chok Ling Tibetan Buddhist Center (TTCL) is to preserve, transmit and deepen understanding of the authentic teachings of Tibetan Buddhism and Buddhist philosophy. While the emphasis will be on transmission of the lineage teachings of Lama Tsong-Kha-Pa, the approach of TTCL is inclusive and seeks to promote inter-faith harmony and compassionate human values.
TTCL will provide opportunities for formal study of the full spectrum of Buddhist teachings, along with its cultural and linguistic heritage through the following means:
- Buddhist Sutra, Tantra, and oral transmissions and commentaries
- Dharma talks, lectures and group discussions
- Meditation and ritual practice
- Initiations, empowerments, and religious retreats
- Language classes geared to Westerners and Tibetans
- An international visiting teachers program to ensure that traditional cultural practices are supported
- Outreach to the community through Buddhist prayers for the sick and dying, Buddhist funeral services and spiritual counseling
